Four Casinos = Good jobs

Mr. Today says:

There has been no better time for for tradesmen even though our economy is low. Four casinos are being built within 5 years. That's a lot of man power needed to get the jobs completed. People from all over the country are moving to the Atlantic City area because of the job opportunities available. The MGM Grand, Revel and Pinnacle are just around the corner as well as plans for a fourth casino to be opened up on the current Bader Field location in Atlantic City.

Here is also an indepth article on the $20 billion projects in Atlantic City from the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Mr. Yesterday say:

I agree that there this is a great time for tradesmen. There is plenty of work out there. Between the Harrah's, Borgata and Trump Taj Mahal expansions there should be enough jobs to go around. Don't forget the MGM and Revel projects. Just announced today that Pinnacle Entertainment Group is delaying construction of their casino project till the second half of 2009 due to credit markets. Atlantic City is moving along as a one stop destination resort..

Atlantic City Misses Miss America

Mr. Today Says:

BRING BACK OUR MISS AMERICA! Yes I miss it as I feel having Miss America here in Atlantic City is one of the important pieces of history we have. Everything from the parade on the world famous Atlantic City boardwalk to the photoshoots and more.

sigh... that's all I have to say.

Mr. Yesterday says:

Margaret Gorman, Marian Bergeron, Donna Axum, Jennifer Berry. If anyone knows anything about Miss America, you'll know that these are some of the past winners from the Miss America Pageant ranging from 1921 to 2006. I'll get to why I didn't mention Lauren Nelson who is this years winner for 2007.
Living in the Atlantic City area all my life, the Miss America Pageant was always in the same sentance as Atlantic City. Ever since 1921 up to a few years ago, the Miss America Pageant was always held just past Labor Day weekend. You had all the hoopla of all the contestents arriving in Atlantic City, the parade, the shoes, the BIG NIGHT and don't forget the full page photo in the Atlantic City Press of the winner and the new Miss America stepping onto the beach and into the Atlantic Ocean. What happened.
The Miss America Organization could not keep the pageant in Atlantic City for whatever reasons. It's a real shame because when you think about the pageant you think about Atlantic City. Sure ratings and advertising dropped while expenses increased and i know that would be a big problem but don't you think there could always be a way to figure out how to have kept the pageant in Atlantic City. Bring the pageant into the 21st. century would be a good start. That is already happening by the way. Could'nt the casinos help bail out the organization. I bet if the DOP was planning to construct a road straight into one of it's casinos, another casino would want to have that same road come into their casino. Opps!! That already happened. Have the casinos pitch in some cash.
In my humble opinion, it was a real shame to let the Miss America Pageant slip out of Atlantic City. Oh, by the way, Lauren Nelson who was this years winner, first of congratulations, but I really didn't see much hoopla about it, not to mention that it aired in January.
GET THE MISS AMERICA PAGEANT BACK IN ATLANTIC CITY!! MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Till later on. Have a great day.
