Mr. Today says:
Well New Year's Eve is upon us. If any of you don't know what the casinos are like on this joyous occasion, here's a little bit of info for you. The casinos are jam packed! Money is everywhere as well! There are so many people that go to the casinos on New Year's Eve that the casino table games are quite giving.
I enjoyed my New Year's last year at the Tropicana Quarter and this year, I'm planning to go to the Trump Taj Mahal. Hope to see you there!
Mr. Yesterday says:
Well Mr. Today. You got me.. Having worked in the casino industry for over 15 years, I must say that every single New Years Eve was jam packed. Every casin in Atlantic City is busy. A matter of fact, at midnight, everyone is still gambling and having fun. With that said, hopefully one year, i'll get to New York to see the ball drop.
Wishing everyone a great new year!!

Tropicana stripped of its license
Mr. Today says:
Tropicana is stripped of its license from the state Casino Control Commison as of Wednesday December, 14.
LOL. We know the games are all the same, they are trying to make the place look nicer with new interior renovations (going with the trend of the other casinos with warm beige colors.... oooh, so original), the Quarter is ok, and the food that the casino offers sucks (especially the buffet and other "lower priced" restaurants that compete with the other lower priced restaurants of the other casinos).
... pft... no wonder the Press Of Atlantic City says:
"its owner, Columbia Sussex Corp. was incapable of running the type of "first class facility' required under state law."
Personally, I'm glad that happened because now, I can take my mom somewhere else to gamble instead of that shithole.
Mr. Yesterday says:
Well well well, isn't this a shock. When I graduater high school, my first real casino job was at the Tropicana. I was there for about 8 years. I was there for most of their expansion projects in the "80's". In my opinion, Tropicana is one of the nicest casinos in Atlantic City. Tropicana has adapted to the many changes that Atantic City has seen. The casino space is huge and the hotel accomodates thousands.
Unfortunatly, the Columbia Sussex Corp took a top notched casino and turned it into crap. I'm not a rocket scientist but you don't need many brain cells to know that if you fire over 900 employees, service is not going to get effected. They should be ashamed of themselves along with the New Jersey Casino Control Commission which gave them their licence in the first place.
This will all pass very soon and for the better. The Columbia Sussex Corp will (and have) loose their casino license, the property will go up for sall (at fair market value), another company will buy it up real fast ( i'm sure there are companies waiting in line for the sale to start), the company that buys the property will rehire the staff needed and then spend lots of money to get the Tropicana back in shape. At that point The Tropicana will start their hugh new marketing campaign.
The Tropicana will be reborn which is great because the property is still well worth the trip. It is one of the places to visit and stay. I can go on and on. So yes, right now the property is a shithole but in the near future, the Tropicana Casino Resort will shine again like it has for so many years.

Black Jack
Mr. Today says:
So my wife is a black jack dealer and i swear i think the game is rigged so the dealer always wins (or at least most of the time). When we played black jack at home, it's so odd that so many of her hands were 21 or at least winning numbers against my sister, mom and I. We played with only 2 decks though but still, what gives?
When she deals at the casino, she tends to win over players as well even though she doesn't want to. Naturally, if she loses, then she'll get more tips but it doesnt seem to happen often.
Mr. Yesterday says:
I can't believe your wife is the devil, opps, I mean a black jack dealer. Only kidding!!
Why is it always when your at a black jack table, you seem to get shot down more by the dealer then possibly your segnificant other. If I had a 19, the dealer has a 20. If I had a 20, the dealer would have a 21. Hell, if I had a 6, the dealer would have a 7. I've never won at a black jack table, I'd do better playing the big six wheel.
Ok, let's get serious. At one point or another you might be up then, Opps, I did it again. You start betting more money and out of the blue you lose 5 hands in a row. WAIT!! Don't forget those few times when the table was getting kind of hot and your tipping the dealer, the pit boss stops by and whispers something in the dealers ear and Opps, all of the sudden the table gets cold and you lose all of your money. What the heck, I never really liked black jack anyway, it's kind of like playing war when i was a kid. The only good times I had at a black jack table was when the waitress was bringing me free drinks. As if i needed tyo get drunk and lose. I could do that sober. Happy card playing. Till next time.
